ITP-EUROPA Young Researchers Program
Aim of the Program: TUFS International Training Program, "Construction of an International Collaboration System for the training of Young Researchers specializing in the Humanities in Non-English European Areas" (ITP-EUROPA), aims at fostering capable young researchers through delegating them to partner institutions in Non-English European Areas. We call for applicants from TUFS young researchers who are specializing in Non-English European Areas and have concrete research plans which specifically target to achieve an outcome such as formal degrees, papers/articles, and presentations at international conferences.
Field of research: Humanities focusing on literature, linguistics and philology
Eligibility: PhD students enrolled at TUFS, and other young researchers registered at TUFS
Outline of the program: This program offers TUFS young researchers an opportunity to study at partner institutions in Non-English European Areas, and to develop intensive and extensive research including applied studies by learning various approaches and theories in Non-English European Areas directly without filtering them through English. Through these efforts, we establish a system for joint examination of doctoral dissertations and joint granting of academic degrees in collaboration with our long-time partner institutions in Non-English European Areas.
Period of research: 2 months to 12 months [the period of around 6 months is preferred as optimal]
Expenses to be covered by TUFS:
-Round trip travel to a Partner Institution.
-Expenses during the stay [Up to 8 months allowance will be provided at the rate prescribed by ITP-EUROPA committee]
-Vaccination, fees for issuing passport and visa, medical examination for obtaining visa
-Passenger service facility charges and departure/entry tax
-Overseas travel insurance
-Tuition, research fee
-Others (considered being necessary for the research) [However, some expenses will not be covered under this, such as: purchase/rental of computers/cell-phones, vehicle hiring charges, internet usage charges, proof-reading or copy-editing charges etc.]
Note:
ITP-EUROPA Committee allows the applicants to apply to similar programs. However, once accepted, candidate must choose either one. Please make sure the applicant is entitled to receive other scholarships at the same time if he/she is receiving/will receive any scholarships other than ITP-EUROPA.
